  • ChallengeDevelop a web portal to support AITES’s mission of promoting underserved young women's interest in jobs requiring information technology (IT) skills. The portal must provide a separate work site for each team, accept proposal submissions, include communication tools, and administrative editors to manage the site.
  • SolutionIDD design and delivered a community-based Web portal for the AITES project. Features included:
    - community-based team sites with a wiki-style interface for customizing their content
    - global chat feature so all teams can communicate
    - an administrative email feature for distributing the AITES newsletter
    - searchable resource library with a member-based rating system
    - integrated functionality to accept mini-grant proposals from team members and backend administrative reports to facilitate the review and approval of submissions
    - integrated survey tool for publishing surveys, capturing results, and exporting data to Excel
    - administrative editors for updating community news, posting content updates, and managing member accounts

    The AITES Web site is designed and developed in ASP.NET.
